Text Polish Pro — Terms of Service

Welcome. By using Text Polish Pro, you agree to the following terms:
1. Nature of Service
Text Polish Pro is a professional editing service. I take your draft and polish it into clear, sharp, and professional text.
Important: This is not a ghostwriting or content-creation service. You provide the draft — I improve its readability and presentation. I will make every effort to not change the meaning of your document. Your voice stays your own.
2. Ownership & Confidentiality
Ownership & Content Policy: You retain full ownership of your draft and the final polished version. I make no claims over your content, and I do not share client work.
However, I do not accept drafts that contain illegal, threatening, or harmful material, or anything that crosses into abusive or highly inappropriate content. I reserve the right to decline any project at my discretion.
If client content raises a legitimate legal concern, I may be required to contact and/or cooperate with law enforcement as necessary.
Military, Government, and Sensitive Content:
I do not accept drafts that contain classified, restricted, or otherwise sensitive military or government information. This includes documents that could compromise security, operations, or confidentiality obligations.
I may accept general or public-facing materials (for example, a non-sensitive speech or community announcement), but I reserve the right to reject any draft if there is uncertainty about its content.
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that any and all material submitted is appropriate for editing and does not contain protected or sensitive information.
3. Payments & Refunds
- Payment is required in full before work begins.
- All payments are processed securely (via Gumroad, portal).
- Refunds are not offered, since this is a service. Instead, I guarantee one free re-polish if needed.
4. Editing Scope
I don’t fact-check your work or create new content. You provide the draft; I polish it to make it clearer, smoother, and more professional. If the underlying content is weak, I can improve readability — but I cannot turn poor material into something it’s not.
5. Intellectual Property
All branding, service descriptions, and business materials of Text Polish Pro are the property of C. Smith Publishing. Unauthorized copying or redistribution of these materials is prohibited.
6. No Guarantees
Results depend on the quality of your draft and how you use the polished version. I make no guarantees of job placement, client acquisition, financial results, or other outcomes.
7. Limitation of Liability
Text Polish Pro is not responsible for any damages, losses, or claims arising from use of the polished drafts.
You are solely responsible for the content and how you choose to use it.
NOTE: If you send a document to me that is questionable or deals with anything illegal or highly controversial I may (circumstance depending) contact the authorities. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
8. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and specifically the laws of [Your State]. Any disputes will be handled within that jurisdiction.
Data Retention Policy:
For client privacy, all drafts and polished versions are deleted as soon as the project is completed and delivered. I do not keep client files unless you request otherwise.
If you would like me to securely store your draft and polished version beyond delivery, I offer paid storage at $50 per 30-day period. You may extend storage in additional 30-day increments by renewing before the period expires. If the storage period ends without renewal, all files will be permanently deleted.
Final Word:
Text Polish Pro exists to help you present your words more clearly and professionally. These terms protect both you (the client) and me (the service provider), so our work together is fair and transparent.
